Hey everyone, Matt checking in with an update about Float8 Deerfield Beach.

We have decided to not renew our lease and this Sunday, February 18th, will be the final day of floats at Float8 Deerfield Beach.

Eight years ago, I made an abrupt career change and began the Float8 journey. After nearly a decade in the music industry, my burgeoning float practice helped me gain the perspective that I needed to realize that what I was doing wasn’t working. I was suffering from anxiety and depression, failing to focus and struggling to sleep. My floats helped loosen the grip of an ingrained sense of hopelessness. Maybe that sounds familiar to some of you.

When I decided to shift gears, I dedicated myself to becoming my community’s “float guy.” As I traveled the country, I visited every float center I could. I attended the Float Conference for the first time in 2015, and I’ve been back every year since. I apprenticed at a leading float center and gained mentors that I still entrust to this day.

I took all of the knowledge that I gained and applied it to opening the first Float8 in Deerfield Beach in August of 2017. We celebrated our grand opening on the evening of the solar eclipse, and it’s likely that some of you were there. We did our best and created a special space that nearly 12,000 floaters have used to relax, recover and reset.

Since then, we have opened two more South Florida locations, Fort Lauderdale in October of 2020 and Delray Beach whose grand opening we celebrated just last week. We also acquired two existing centers in Orlando in June of 2022 from friends I made in those early travels. Growing from one location to five and two employees to 28 has been exhilarating, and we have learned a lot along the way.

One thing that we learned is how to build an amazing float center, and we couldn’t be more proud about the ones we’ve created for you. As a result of our evolution, it’s become evident in our expansion that our Deerfield Beach location, even with its amazing vibe, is less efficient and not up to our current standard. Coupled with some challenges that are outside of our control, we have found it difficult to continue providing the level of service that we strive for.

Float8 Deerfield Beach was where I established a true float practice that has remarkably changed my life. It’s where we learned how to facilitate the amazing floats that have helped change some of yours. It’s where I have laughed – and cried – with many of you. Anchored by these emotional memories, I’m sharing all of this with you today because we have made the difficult decision to close the doors of the float center that started it all.

We are saying goodbye to a special space, but to those of you who float in Deerfield, we hope that we’re not saying goodbye to all of you. As always, all floats and gift cards are usable and shareable at any Float8, and we have amazing options just 20 minutes to the north and south at our Delray Beach and Fort Lauderdale locations.

Please direct any questions or concerns to dfb@float8ion.com or 561-404-4416 and be patient with our reply because we want to provide each of you with the individual attention that you deserve.

Stay floaty,
Matt

Oh wow what a shock! I just loved the vibe at the Deerfield location.
I live out west and always hoped one would open in Coral Springs.
It seems I will have to fight the heavy traffic to Ft. Lauderdale,

Thank you for all you have done

Your staff were always so kind and accommodating.

    Best wishes in new endeavors!

You could also consider our new Delray Beach location. We have quite a few floaters from your area floating there. It wight be a little less of a congested drive.

I am so sorry to hear that the Deerfield location is closed. When I found floating, my entire life changed … for that I will be forever grateful! I wish you nothing but continued success! And, I can’t wait to see the Delray Beach location when I come back to visit. Love to you all! You guys will always be in my heart … and my first even float shop!
